“Initially, when Lara said she would coach me I was excited, but also hesitant. I didn’t know what to expect from her as a coach. Part of me was scared because I know she can dole out some “tough love.” And usually, that’s exactly what we need.
 
When we started working together, I really didn’t know where to begin with what I wanted to work on first. At that time, I was walking through a tough and challenging season of my life & my head wasn’t all there. But Lara walked me through her process. Little did I know, I needed to first address my relationship to my Heavenly Father. I needed to know I wasn’t abandoned by Him. So that’s where we started. Once that area was addressed and healed (which is still ongoing work), I could accept myself and see myself as God sees me… as His beloved daughter who He loves and adores, and would never leave me. I allowed the process to unfold and found that being vulnerable, while scary, can be restorative as well; especially in the hands of a great coach.
 
Over the six sessions we worked together, I was able to change and grow in areas where I felt stuck and timid; especially around some personal business projects. I did the homework Lara assigned, began taking the baby steps I needed to become unstuck, and slowly began to unravel myself from the tangled thought mess I became. While our coaching sessions have since ended, I continue the work set out for me by Lara, and know she’s a part of my support system and network. If I ever have questions, I know she’s there to help me with guidance. That’s the mark of a great coach… they’re still with you, cheering you on!
